I received this audiobook for free from Pink Flamingo Productions and Audiobook Obsessions. Sophie Lark is a master storyteller and The Spy is an amazing addition to the Kingmakers Series. Along with this current couple's story, other questions from another side plot were answered.

I know there is one more book in this series and I'm interested to see where that one goes. The previous books all built up to this crazy finale. But the how and why their story was intriguing and kept me listening. I had a my suspicions on who The Spy was - well narrowed it down to a few and I was right. While it focuses on a different main character, each book builds off each other so it's best to read this series in order.

The epilogue was such an added treat because Sophie has tied up The Kingmaker’s series most beloved characters with a perfect blood mafia red bow ! This series has been added to my top 5 favorite mafia series of all time and I am already looking forward to the next time I read this series again ! With that being said this book is still fantastic and a 5/5 star read for me ! There is so much world building, action packed story lines, cross-connections from other works of Sophie’s that fit flawlessly into this story, every single question I had was answered in depth + I was still left with wanting more. Without the mission being completed they can never be together, but sometimes their romance seemed rushed because of all the action happening around them. The Spy + Nix’s relationship takes a slight backseat over the mission. I do wish there was a few more chapters of spice and romance building between the two. I loved following all the clues and figuring out exactly who The Spy was + what their overall mission was while at Kingmaker’s. Every chapter there is a new bomb dropped or a connecting piece of information is given that ties everything together seamlessly.

The action, excitement, twists, turns + secrets throughout this book are explosive. FINALLY in this book everything is answered and we really start to understand how all the missing puzzle pieces fit. With The Spy being the 3rd POV in book three, we start getting some information but are only left with more questions by the end. This book has been building to this epic conclusion since book one ! We first meet The Spy secretly in book one but aren’t introduced to them until book three. Thank you to and for gifting me the audiobook in exchange for my honest review. It reveals the future of each Kingmaker’s couple.

Instead of learning about the history between them second hand, we get it straight out of the gangster’s mouth. The addition of the third point-of-view is genius. The Spy is the story I’ve been waiting for since I read The Heir and noted Ares’ shiftiness. She does not accept deceit with a whimper. Nix is fundamentally kind and loyal, but she is inordinately strong and vicious. She expects transparency, the exact thing Ares is unable to give her.
